Logbook servicing is the minimum servicing your manufacturer requires in order for you to maintain your car’s warranty. You are often required to complete a qualified service on your vehicle at specified intervals during your warranty period, such as every six months or 10,000km – whichever comes first.

Your new car warranty contains specific service information about how your car should be serviced and how often it should be serviced.

Our qualified mechanics look at this information and make sure your car is serviced to the exact requirements and standards specific to your vehicle to assist maintain the manufacturer’s warranty.

Once your service is complete, our mechanics will validate your service book as a record of the service, so you can maintain your warranty and keep track of your car’s maintenance record.

 WHAT IS A LOGBOOK SERVICE?

A Logbook car service includes a thorough check of your vehicle to manufacturer standards, which will include looking at both the inside and outside of your car. These services will also include the changing of oil and filters and anything else carried out in a standard service.

The Logbook whilst it may sound like a throwaway term, the log book referenced in logbook servicing is a physical book filled in and maintained by your service mechanic. This book details every repair and maintenance job performed on your vehicle to ensure a comprehensive guide to all changes and work.

 WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A LOGBOOK SERVICE & A GENERAL SERVICE?

All Cars will have a logbook when sold brand new.

In the logbook there will be a series of services required to maintain the maximum efficiency of the vehicle as recommended by the car’s manufacturer at time or KM intervals.

The requirements of the logbook service as listed by the manufacturer will vary dependent on the make and model of the car.

The time or KM period required for logbook servicing can vary however it is good practice to service your vehicle every 10,000 km or

every 6 months (which ever comes first) to ensure peak performance whist also reducing the risk of breakdown and premature engine wear.

 HOW LONG WILL A LOGBOOK SERVICE TAKE?

This is a difficult question to answer with much certainty, as it depends on both the complexity of the vehicle and the extent of repairs and maintenance.

With that said, most reliable estimates would place the time to perform a comprehensive log book service at approximately 2-4 hours.

Once again, this is just an estimate, and it’s best to allow for additional time and speak with us when booking your vehicle in to find out more.
